About ACESD No.2

The Sealy Fire Department, operating under Austin County Emergency Services District No. 2 (ACESD No.2), has proudly served the Sealy community since 1930. Today, the department operates with a 5-person paid duty crew, staffed 24 hours a day.

The department is comprised of full-time, part-time, and volunteer firefighters, supported by administrative staff and led by a Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, and two Division Chiefs. This diverse and dedicated team ensures around-the clock emergency coverage and support services for the community.

Funding is provided through ACESD No.2 property taxes- currently set at .10 per $100 assessed value (eg., a home owner with a $100,000 valued home pays $100.00 a per year) – as well as through generous community donations.

The mission of ACESD No.2 is Life Safety, Incident Stabilization and Property Conservation.  The department responds to around 600 Emergency Incidents annually, including structure fires, motor vehicle incidents, EMS Assists, rescues, wild land fires and hazardous materials incidents. 

In addition to emergency response, the department offers services such as pre-planning, home safety inspections, smoke detector installations, fire prevention classes, and fire station tours.
